The central idea behind Lah Lah’s was to design a Greenhouse dining experience with an urban Asian twist by hanging greenery, adding crates and an herb garden concept throughout. Japanese slang embossed onto the reclaimed timber shelving compliments the feature Asian street art murals and quirky koi fish that can be found around the restaurant. The urban aesthetic and sense of place naturally attracts the target market of the energetic millennial crowd, groups of friends, young families and couples.
A central and engaging bar activates the space on arrival as it captures all the key features of the design that add to the youthful atmosphere. Constructed from reclaimed red bricks with scaffolding detailed shelving units which accommodate the bottle display, additional greenery and Japanese slang painted on the reclaimed timber crates. During the cooler months, the bi-folding doors open to reveal an outdoor dining ambience at the poolside which further extends the space and provides a seasonal experience. During the warmer months, guests can still enjoy the greenhouse atmosphere due to the glass ceiling along the perimeter of the restaurant, where greenery, natural daylight and rustic timber finishes all combine create a conservatory atmosphere with an Asian flavour.
The selection of furniture in the interior is chosen to achieve an eclectic look. There is a variety of seating for different client needs, comfortable banquette and sofa seating, high bar tables with rustic Asian stools, whilst also providing more conventional dining arrangements for dining groups and families. Overall, Lah Lah provides guests with an urban Pan Asian experience where greenery and Asian accents come together to create an energetic, edgy and unique experience for guests to enjoy good food with great company.
