The concept for the Zeelaf Villa was developed from the desire to maximize the main city views and provide privacy from the neighboring properties and street. This courageous design philosophy places the main living spaces flowing out to the pool, on the upper floor, with the bedrooms located on the ground floor opening out to the garden. To enable this, the vehicles ramp is linked to the first floor achieving a grand entry. There is another ramp tucked around this ramp to allow access to the extensive basement.
The structure is designed in a series of horizontal planes all linked together centered around the elevated swimming pool with access to the garden level below, or up to the extensive roof top terrace. These horizontal planes are emphasized by the cantilevered roofs which extend the linear connection and enhance the flow of space from inside to outside creating breathtaking vistas across the first floor infinity pool and terraces.
The dramatic use of the entry water features, visually links the main public entry court, right through to the more private terrace, across the infinity pool, and on the city views beyond. The design consists of a complex series of linked spaces, both horizontally and vertically through the building allowing each of the formal and private areas to function on a day family basis.
